Hi! I’m Natalie. I’m an artist from North Wales currently living in Vancouver, Canada.

I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, but when I was 16, I had an incredible teacher (Wil Art) who encouraged me to go outside, draw in the rain, paint in the sun, and embrace the changes that the environment has on you whilst creating art. Since then, I have been painting outside (pleinair), and have truly found my passion.

With the help of my talented Grandad, we built a homemade pochade box together from an old cigar box. This has made painting outside so much easier, as it fits perfectly in my backpack, and holds all of my painting supplies.

I am lucky enough to be living in Vancouver at the moment, where I have found endless inspiration for painting and drawing. If you look at my work, you’ll definitely find a running theme of mountains and water reflections.

During the day I work as a prop maker for theatre, film and tv, but when I was back in the U.K. I worked in miniatures for stop motion animation. In the evenings, I draw, and on the weekends I paint, and when I’m not painting, I’m hiking or skiing with my partner Liam and my lovely friends here in Vancouver. If you want to see more of my life, have a look at my Instagram.
