I’ve hiked up to Lindeman Lake during the summer, but I was really curious to see what it looked like in winter. It still had that beautiful deep green/blue water but half of it was covered with ice and snow. I decided to paint it, but got incredibly cold sitting still on a snowy tree stump. My friend Hannah was determined for me to finish, so took me for a run to warm up. This gave me a few more minutes where I added the finishing details.
Painted on location at Lindeman Lake where it was -3°C on January 7th 2024.
